Oh, it's a tree

My confession of the day is that I like trees.
Therefore I paint and draw them.

Artistic days

Instead of hiking I spent the last two days with messing around with oil and gouache colours.

I finished my oil painting of the Schneeberg:

And started a new oil painting right away (and it is not a mountain for a change):

I did some experiments with gouache colours and ink.

In the first drawing gouache was used only for background and white highlights:

For the second one I did some shapes with gouache as well. The ink did not quite turn out the way I intended it to (more practice needed).

Mountainous wrinkles of life

Entrance to Hell

As it was hot during the last weeks I did to versions of a painting of an entrance to hell.

The first one is a painting with gouache colours.

I didn't take a look at the gouache painting while doing the digital one, so the results are pretty different although I used the same photo (taken at the Höllentalklamm, Bavaria) as a reference.

Cosy Cave

Painting nature

Still not yet brave enough for painting in the wilderness I continued my efforts in capturing nature in art at home using some of my photos as references.
